Janet Coleman Photographer   Although I have lived in Minneapolis most of my life, I have always attributed my love of big skies and distant horizons to having been born in Kansas. My strong feeling for these landscapes influenced my earliest paintings and continues to influence my new passion, photography. I see the world through my camera lens and I am continually scanning my current environment for the compelling photograph or image. Color, line, form, texture….I am fascinated by how light changes what we see and experience depending upon the position of the clock.

My training as a lawyer has helped me with detail and presentation; my early work as a painter developed my imagination and composition. Photography is a way for me to visually communicate what I have seen to others who have not been there. Nature offers an infinity of views with great photographs only limited by us, the observers.

My online gallery at the present includes the big skies and vast landscapes of Namibia, incredible views of Bryce Canyon and people and places from southwestern Africa. I am driven by a curiosity of life, the people that I find in it and the places where they live. I use a Canon EOS 5D digital camera and my pictures are available as drum scanned pigment prints, matted and unframed. Thank you for visiting!

desire humans have for a moment...this very moment...to stay."
